All in all it plagues me still
How he can’t stop a senseless kill
And we just shed a thousand tears
For all that pain through all those years
And you can’t speak
In fear he’ll up and leave
When all I want is you here when I need
Mother knows she can’t control
The things we do when we leave home
So she stops staying up at night
With her hands always intertwined
I can feel
My heart beat out my chest
But nothing’s real so I put my mind to rest
Don’t you cry
I’ll patch you up in time
There’s an old dirt road
I think you might like
It’ll lead you down
To the quaintest town
Where you can rest and let your guard down
Skies open up for once
Show yourself
Look at the mess you've made
Fear only what you've heard
Where's our clues?
Hiding inside your room?
For everything there is a time
But still no word of compromise
And if this is our only chance
To make amends and sing and dance
Then I’ll be fine
And soon you’ll feel the same
It takes some time
Everything will change
So don’t you cry
I’ll patch you up in time
There’s an old dirt road
I think you might like
It’ll lead you down
To the quaintest town
Where you can rest and let your guard down

It has forever cemented itself as a relatable, earnest, and heartfelt album to me. Some of my best and worst moments have lived side by side with these songs. I don't believe my life has ever been the same after. Thank you Slaughter Beach, Dog. <3 daifaux
