It seems like I’ve got the con and you're hired hands
When all my hours are spent steering us to land
And if and when we arrive, we’re greeted by men
Who are raising their glass and spilling compliments
Remember to breathe, 'cause sometimes I get lost up there
And don’t come down for days at a time
It’s hard to keep from going off the deep end
When It feels like I’m alone
Well my tongue isn’t tied and neither my wrists
So there ain’t no excuse not to move an inch
And it’s your word against mine and I trust your face
Say there’s a place and a time for everything we made
And I hope that you’re right 'cause sometimes I get lost up there
And don’t come down for days at a time
It’s hard to keep from going off the deep end
When It feels like I’m alone

It has forever cemented itself as a relatable, earnest, and heartfelt album to me. Some of my best and worst moments have lived side by side with these songs. I don't believe my life has ever been the same after. Thank you Slaughter Beach, Dog. <3 daifaux
