You sat there on the porch and kept your head down and wept about your life
Like there was something you had left behind
You waited hours to hear the phone ring but the ringing never came
And you just kept on prayin’ that everything would change
You had a choice to make and when the time came you went against your heart
Thinking much too long was tearing you apart
They’re reaching in and stealing all the air you used to need to breathe
But you just closed your eyes as they buried you six feet
I only see in black and white
These colors don’t seem to appear to me
So I wonder what I’ll miss tonight
When I am the first to fall asleep
Your father found you in the freezing cold and invited you back in
But you refused to take his verbal medicine
Believing there was nothing he could say that could ever change your mind
You blocked out all the words and dreamt of better times
I only see in black and white
These colors don’t seem to appear to me
So I wonder what I’ll miss tonight
When I am the first to fall asleep
To fall asleep

It has forever cemented itself as a relatable, earnest, and heartfelt album to me. Some of my best and worst moments have lived side by side with these songs. I don't believe my life has ever been the same after. Thank you Slaughter Beach, Dog. <3 daifaux
